PROFILE

Born in New Orleans, USA, and now residing in Vienna, Austria, I have participated in the planning of facilities in five different countries over the course of 26 years as an architect. In the USA, I was specialized in healthcare architecture, with many additional projects in residential architecture, and was active in Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts. With 19 years of experience in Austria, I am able to provide planning and consulting on an international level in both the English and German languages.
Between Mid 2020 and July 2021, I joined the team at t-hoch-n Architekten in Vienna, with the role of Project Management and oversight for construction document planning and construction observation.
Based on my last 13 years of experience as senior architect at Ostertag Architects, my most adept specialty lies in architectural management, consulting, design and construction document planning for mobility architecture (rail, bus, automobile, bike and pedestrian interchanges), especially train stations and their surrounding spaces and facilities.
Environmentally responsible design is of profound importance and I have been engaged in the last several years with continued studies, research, and experience in sustainable planning practices, including experience with the LEED rating system (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings, homes and neighborhoods.
My personal accomplishments as an American architect in Vienna are a result of many years of language study, as well as ongoing technical planning in both English and German. This diversity has enabled me to understand different perspectives and ways of tackling design issues. Similar to architecture, foreign language skill is an ever-evolving practice and my challenges are met on a daily basis.
I am a proud member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and I was President of the American Institute of Architects Continental Europe Chapter in 2019. I was the chapter's International Region Representative and a member of the AIA International Region Board of Directors in 2020.
